Dear Past Presidents, Honorary Diplomatic Members, Life Members and Friends,  On behalf of the International Women’s Club of Thailand, may I take this opportunity to wish Her Majesty Queen Sirikit a very Happy Birthday and good health and happiness. I trust many of you have had a restful holiday with your families and are now ready to resume your activities! May I take this opportunity to express my thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Naima Zahid, the wife of the Ambassador of Morocco, for a wonderful Special GTKY Morocco held at the end of May. We were honoured also to be invited to the Residence of the Sri Lankan Ambassador to Thailand and Mrs. Kusum Disanayaka, in June. My thanks and gratefulness to His Excellency and Mrs. Disanayaka for such warm and gracious hospitality. I would like to ask all those who wish to visit this beautiful country to please let me know. A few of us plan to make a trip to Sri Lanka in early 2009 and would love to have our IWC friends join us. We have several activities in store for you this month. The GTKY Japan at the Residence of Mrs. Toshiko Kobayashi will take place on Thursday August 7th, 2008. We will get to witness the world-renowned Tea Ceremony- the Chado, as well as listen to the Koto player. On August 21st, we will have a Special GTKY Bangsai Arts and Crafts in Ayuthaya, as this Project was initiated by HM The Queen and this month we would like to do something in honour of HM Queen Sirikit’s Birthday Anniversary. On August 28th, we will feature a showcase by our very own talented designer Alice Stella Kelsey -- the Stella Thomas Designs: Resortwear and Thai Silk Extravaganza. Please book now for all the above-mentioned activities! Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday on August 12th has also been designated as Mother’s Day in Thailand – I wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day and hope to see you at our August functions!
