Dear Past Presidents, Honorary Diplomatic Members and IWC Members, president                  

           January is the first month of my duty as the president passed smoothly with the help of our enthusiastic board committees. The January luncheon celebrating the International New Year has been well organized and will certainly impress you with lots of fun and friendship. 

          Our visit to Southeast Asian Ceramics Museum was a success and well attended.Here you can find more than 2000 interesting and meaningful ancient ceramics on display collected by Mr.Surat Osathanugrah,also the founder of Bangkok University.

          February is the month of love. We have Valentines Day this month. Luckily this year, February 14th is also Chinese New Year’s Day. Our program committee is arranging a surprise program for you which will have a “Romance with Music” theme. Please come and join this romantic and memorable event. Kindly make reservation at least 3 days prior to the luncheon. Please call our program directors for reservations, the earlier the better, to allow them to work smoothly without having to make an urgent order of food to be served. 

          Our activity for the month of February is a visit to “The Royal Chitralada Projects”. Here you can see several projects initiated by His Majesty the King. The projects aim is to encourage the villagers to become self-sufficient and make optimal utilization of the natural resources. Happy Chinese New Year and Valentines Day.

      The International Women’s Club of Thailand and Theatre Guild are proud to announce the Bangkok production of THE FANTASTICKS coming June 17 - June 20 to the Bangkok Art and Culture Center.   

 

Auditions are set for March 10 and 11 at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre auditorium on the 5th floor from 6 to 9pm each day.  For more information on the auditions and performance schedules, please go to:  http://thetheatreguild.webs.com/.

 

THE FANTASTICKS is the longest running off Broadway musical in the history of American theatre. This musical ran from May 03, 1960 to January 13, 2000, a record of 42 years, 17,162 performances.  A revival of the show is now running on off Broadway.


The FANTASTICKS, music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones  is the story of two neighboring fathers who put up a wall between their houses to ensure that their children fall in love, because they know children always do what their parents forbid. After the children do fall in love, they discover their fathers' plot and they each go off and experience things in the world. They return to each other and the love they had, having learned from the world and made an informed decision.

With memorable songs like “Try to Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” The FANTASTICKS will have you humming. The humorous songs like “This Plum is to Ripe” and “Plant a Radish” will have you laughing. The insightfulness of the show will have you nodding you head because you’ve been there.
